THAI YOGA THERAPY

The foundation of Thai Yoga Therapy origins in India, hence the relationship to yoga and ayurveda. It was brought to Thailand, where it known as ‘Nuad Bo Rarn’ or ‘Ancient Massage’, by Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha, a contemporary of the Buddha. It is seen as a practical application of the buddhist principle of ‘metta’ or loving kindness.
Today in our western world we can relate to this therapeutic practice as aligning our body’s skeletal framework, relaxing muscular tension and opening joint space.

My primary and advanced training of Thai Yoga Therapy has been with Saul David Raye, who after spending several years in Thailand learning from his teacher, Asokananda, was certified to teach and brought this practise to the U. S. It is a complete system beginning with the feet and legs, treating the whole body, front, back, sides, abdomen, the arms and hands, shoulders, neck, head, scalp and concludes with a face and ear accupressure treatment.

The Thai Yoga Therapy 2 hour Session is received on a floor mat while you are wearing loose comfortable clothing. You will interactively experience assisted yoga poses that stretch and open the body while accupressure is applied along ten of the body’s main meridians lines of energy flow. The result of this work is a grounded energized deep relaxation, connection of mind and body, increased flexibility and relief of pain and tension while balancing of the body’s systems.
